Fiverr adds a buyer service fee of 5.5% to every purchase, including tips, plus $3.50 on orders under $200. Sellers separately pay Fiverr 20% of each order. Always check the total at checkout, because the flat fee makes small orders proportionally more expensive.

The price on a Fiverr gig is not the price you pay at checkout. Here is how Fiverr’s buyer fees work, so there are no surprises.
Fiverr buyer fees at a glance
| Fee | How much | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Service fee | 5.5% of the purchase amount | Every order, extras and tips |
| Small order fee | $3.50 | Orders under $200 |
| Seller commission | 20% of the order | Paid by the seller, not added to your total |
These amounts come from Fiverr’s Help Center (checked October 2026). Fiverr has changed the small order fee before, so confirm the total in your checkout summary.
Example: what a $200 order really costs
| Gig price | $200.00 |
| Service fee (5.5%) | $11.00 |
| Total (no small order fee at $200 and above) | $211.00 |
On larger orders the service fee stays around 5.5%. On small orders the flat fee can push the effective rate much higher, so bundling small tasks into one order saves money.
Do you get fees back with a refund?
When an order is cancelled, the refund goes to your Fiverr balance first, and you can then request it back to your original payment method. Fee rules for refunds can change, so check the cancellation summary. We cover the process in how to get a refund on Fiverr.
How to keep Fiverr fees low
- Combine several small tasks into one order.
- Ask for a custom offer that includes everything you need, instead of adding extras later.
- Remember that tips also carry the service fee.
Are Fiverr fees worth it?
The fee pays for payment protection, dispute handling and the review system. For most buyers, that protection is worth more than the few percent it costs, especially on larger projects.
