Is Webflow good for SEO? What it does well and what it lacks
Short answer

Yes. Webflow is good for SEO: it produces clean code, hosts on a fast CDN with SSL, and has built-in meta tags, sitemaps, 301 redirects, canonical tags, alt text and custom schema. Rankings still depend on content, site structure and links, which no platform does for you.

We build Webflow sites every week, and "is Webflow good for SEO?" is one of the first questions clients ask. Short answer: yes, technically it is one of the easiest platforms to get right.

What Webflow does well

SSL and hostingIncluded, on a global CDN

Where Webflow has limits

  • No SEO plugin ecosystem. There is no Yoast-style assistant; you set things up yourself or with apps.
  • Schema is manual. Structured data is added with custom code.
  • CMS limits. Very large content sites can hit item and collection limits.
  • Localization costs extra. Multi-language sites need the Localize add-on.

Webflow vs WordPress for SEO

Both can rank well. Webflow gives you most technical SEO out of the box with no plugins to maintain. WordPress needs plugins but offers more SEO tools. Rankings come from content and links, not the platform. See Webflow vs WordPress.

Our Webflow SEO setup checklist

  • Unique meta title and description on every page and CMS template
  • One H1 per page and a logical heading structure
  • Descriptive slugs and 301 redirects from any old URLs
  • Alt text on every meaningful image
  • Schema for the organization, services, articles and FAQs
  • Compressed images and lazy loading
  • Sitemap submitted in Google Search Console
